| San Francisco Bay Water Transit Authority Public Advisory Committees:
Sonoma County, Redwood City and Berkeley Terminals |
| LMA has organized and directed public outreach programs for the development of ferry service and terminals in the north bay, Redwood City and the City of Berkeley. Ferry development is a controversial, yet critical, link in the regional transit system. LMA interfaced with local elected officials, business and environmental representatives to reduce conflict and move terminal sites forward. LMA also provided technical evaluation of a broad selection of potential terminal sites in the three areas. |

| Sonoma Baylands Tidal Marsh Restoration Project, Sonoma County |
| This project used two million cubic yards of dredged material from the Port of Oakland to re-create a 300-acre tidal wetland for endangered species and incorporated public trails and passive recreational features. LMA principal, Laurel Marcus oversaw all aspects of this nationally recognized project including: acquisition of the land, project design, negotiation of permits with the regulatory agencies, CEQA documentation, project agreements and contracts with the Port and the Army Corps of Engineers, oversight of all project construction documents, final monitoring and other project requirements, oversight of all public relations and media needs, and oversight of project construction and management of all project budgets. The project involved evaluation of the potential for exposure of wildlife to contaminants in the dredged material. This project set a precedent in the Bay Area for wetland restoration using dredged material. |

| Suisun Creek Watershed Assessment and Enhancement
Plan, Solano and Napa Counties |
| LMA served as the prime contractor for a detailed investigation
of this steelhead trout stream and watershed made up entirely of private land.
The assessment addresses soil erosion on private land and roads, revising reservoir
operations, water flows and temperatures, riparian corridor width and diversity
including the presence of invasive species, road erosion and repairs and creation
of a voluntary implementation program for landowners and the community. An
extensive Geographic Information System (GIS) and database were created. LMA
is currently leading the implementation phase of the assessment. |

| Watershed Assessment Resource Center,
San Francisco Bay Area Watersheds |
| LMA directed a project to establish a resource center for
citizen-based watershed and creek groups. LMA provided technical training in
physical and biological protocols as well as watershed assessment techniques
and regulatory and project design concepts for watershed monitoring programs.
The Center is also expected to establish partnerships between funders in local
and state agencies and local groups to support monitoring and restoration of
creeks and watersheds. |
